Niels Appel
VP, Sales & Marketing
Niels was appointed Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing on July 1, 2007. He graduated with an engineering degree from the Danish Technical University (DTU). He began his career as an office software developer at IBM and later became International Project Manager, but has worked in sales and marketing for the last 13 years.
Niels brings strong industry experience to Contex. He has worked as an Account Manager at SAS Institute (business intelligence software vendor); as Sales Director at HP Denmark, where he was responsible for the entire HP channel and all HP products – from small inkjet printers to large enterprise UNIX servers; and as European Sales Director for Catalog International, a dot-com company developing e-commerce solutions.
Prior to joining Contex, Niels spent eight years at Microsoft, moving from Director of Small and Medium Business and then the Enterprise & Partner Group in Denmark to Director of Sales Excellence, Western Europe in 2006.
Niels is married and has 2 children. His physical fitness belies his interests in wines and cooking. |
